Ingredients

4 boneless pork chops

2 tablespoons olive oil

Salt and pepper, to taste

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon onion powder

4 large potatoes, thinly sliced

1 cup heavy cream

1 cup chicken broth

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

1 onion, thinly sliced

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 tablespoon fresh thyme (or 1 teaspoon dried)

1 teaspoon paprika

Optional: Chopped parsley for garnish

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Season the pork chops with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Brown the pork chops in the skillet for about 3-4 minutes on each side until golden brown. Remove and set aside.

In the same skillet, add the sliced onion and minced garlic. Sauté until the onion is translucent and fragrant, about 3 minutes.

In a large bowl, combine the heavy cream, chicken broth, thyme, paprika, and a pinch of salt and pepper. Whisk until well mixed.

In a greased 9x13 inch baking dish, layer half of the sliced potatoes, followed by half of the sautéed onion and garlic mixture. Pour half of the cream mixture over the potatoes. Add the brown pork chops on top of this layer.

Add the remaining potatoes and then the rest of the onion and garlic mixture. Pour the remaining cream mixture over it all. Top with shredded cheddar cheese, covering the entire surface.

Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake for 45 minutes. After 45 minutes, remove the foil and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes, until the potatoes are tender and the cheese is bubbly and golden.

Once cooked, allow to cool for a few minutes before serving. Garnish with chopped parsley if desired.

                  Prep Time: 20 min | Total Time: 1 hr 20 min | Servings: 4-6

                    - Presentation Tips: Serve straight from the baking dish or spoon individual portions onto plates. Add a sprinkle of fresh parsley and a side of steamed green beans or a simple salad for color and balance. Enjoy!
