Ingredients

1 lb ground beef

1/2 cup breadcrumbs

1/4 cup finely chopped onion

1 egg

2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon onion powder

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

1 cup beef broth

1 cup sliced mushrooms

1 cup onion, sliced

1 tablespoon cornstarch (optional, for thickening)

2 tablespoons water (optional, for thickening)

Salt to taste

Instructions

In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, chopped onion, egg, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, and salt. Mix until well combined.

Form the mixture into 1.5-inch meatballs and set aside.

In the bottom of the slow cooker, layer the sliced onions and mushrooms evenly.

Carefully place the meatballs on top of the onion and mushroom layer.

In a separate bowl, whisk together the beef broth and any remaining Worcestershire sauce. Pour the mixture over the meatballs.

Cover the slow cooker and set it to low heat. Cook for 5-6 hours or on high heat for 3-4 hours, until the meatballs are cooked through and tender.

If you prefer a thicker sauce, whisk together the cornstarch and water in a small bowl until smooth, then stir this into the slow cooker during the last 30 minutes of cooking.

Stir gently to combine and let it thicken for the remaining cooking time.

Once done, remove the cover and let it sit for 10 minutes before serving.

                    Prep Time: 15 mins | Total Time: 6 hrs | Servings: 4-6

                      - Presentation Tips: Serve the meatballs over creamy mashed potatoes or egg noodles, spooning the flavorful sauce over the top. Garnish with freshly chopped parsley for a pop of color and added freshness!
