2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts

8 ounces of fettuccine pasta

4 cloves of garlic, minced

2 tablespoons olive oil

1 cup heavy cream

1 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1/2 teaspoon dried Italian herbs

Salt and pepper to taste

Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions
 

Begin by cooking the fettuccine according to package instructions in a large pot of salted boiling water. Drain and set aside, reserving about 1 cup of the pasta water.

    While the pasta is cooking, season the chicken breasts with salt, pepper, and half the dried Italian herbs.

      In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the seasoned chicken breasts and cook for about 5-7 minutes on each side, or until the chicken is thoroughly cooked and golden brown. Remove from the skillet and let it rest before slicing into strips.

        In the same skillet, reduce the heat to medium and add the minced garlic. Sauté for about 1-2 minutes until fragrant, being careful not to let it burn.

          Pour in the heavy cream and bring to a gentle simmer. Add the grated Parmesan cheese and stir until melted and the sauce is creamy. If the sauce is too thick, add some reserved pasta water gradually until desired consistency is achieved.

            Stir in the remaining dried Italian herbs and season with salt and pepper to taste.

              Add the cooked fettuccine to the skillet, tossing to coat the pasta evenly with the creamy sauce.

                Finally, add the sliced chicken on top and gently mix everything together.

                  Serve hot, garnished with chopped fresh parsley for a touch of color and flavor.
